Our villa / apartment is available to rent
2019: Good availability - please enquire.. . If your dates don't match, please scroll down to the links for other villas and apartments to rent in Costa Blanca
The property is twenty minutes inland from the crowded coast and approximately one-hour drive from both Alicante and Valencia airports, just 15 minutes from motorway exit 62.
Completed in 2003, Casa Olivas is a substantial individual villa built on a large flat plot in a very quiet peaceful and scenic location. The owners periodically occupy the main villa and offer for rental a luxurious and spacious one-bedroom apartment, which adjoins the main villa. The apartment has its own private entrance and in keeping with the whole site steps outside are at an absolute minimum.
The accommodation is entirely suitable for those who like the luxury and style of the private villa without the price tag to match. It is ideal for a relaxing and stress free holiday with local amenities within convenient walking distance and many more options within a short drive. We are unable to accommodate children or pets. The apartment is a non-smoking environment and it is unsuitable for visitors totally confined to a wheelchair.
Spacious apartment bedroom
Apartment lounge/diner with views to the rear to the swimming pool and lush orange groves in the valley
Natural wood American kitchen and appliances at our guest's disposal.
Throughout, the apartment is furnished to a high standard and exudes the feeling of space and comfort designed to make the visitor feel welcome and at home. The accommodation consists of a bedroom with en suite a lounge and a fully equipped kitchen. All windows have specially fitted mosquito nets and integral shutters to ensure maximum comfort. The apartment also benefits from full gas central heating.
The large bedroom has built in wardrobes and twin comfortable English beds. The en suite has a sizeable shower cubicle with piping hot water always to hand from the solar generated system. The kitchen has a full electric oven and grill with gas hob, fridge/freezer, small appliances and all the necessary crockery and cutlery.
The lounge/dining area is well furnished with a leather suite, bookcase with a full compliment of reading material, coffee table and dining table and chairs. For entertainment there is a portable CD and tape player, video player DVD and satellite television offering all the prime UK programmes (now a rarity in the Costa Blanca).
View across the valley from the villa lounge
The views from the lounge are across the valley to villages nestling at the foot of the rugged mountain range that rise from the valley. Between lie acres of orange groves, the region's lifeblood, which the casual walker can explore. To the east the Mediterranean is usually visible in the distance and glorious beaches are no more than a twenty-minute drive as is the busy and substantial town of Denia
From the lounge double doors lead to a private patio and eating area to the west of the property and ideal for the late summer cocktail and romantic dinner al fresco as the fiery heat of the red sun dips behind the magnificent peaks. During 2004 an extended patio will be available along the front of the villa to ensure all day sunshine through the winter months. The garden has eleven mature olive trees that offers ample shade and that unique Spanish ambience not to mention the 200 kilo yield each year.
Swimming pool and rear terrace with the surround crazy paved with unpolished marble which is anti slip and cool to the feet all for the comfort of all our guests.
Visitors have the full use of the swimming pool and a sun drenched rear terrace area which both offers total privacy from the outside world whilst soaking in the mountain views that surround the villa. There is also an enclosed outside shower with hot and cold water. An added bonus is the under water lighting for all those who enjoy a midnight swim on those long hot summer nights.
During the season it is impossible to escape the fragrance of the orange and lemon blossom which is often blended with the all year around perfume of the many Jasmine plants.
Moors and Christians parade at one of the many fiestas close to Orba
The atmosphere is unique and infectious. Make sure you bring along the camera
Always happy to pose, happier to converse and ecstatic to share a drink.
The traditional Spanish village of Orba lies at the base of the Vall de Laguart, which adjoins the picturesque Jalon Valley. Outside Orba to the west the Vall de Laguart rises high into the mountains and is the gateway to some wonderful walks for the casual walker through to the serious hiker. The hamlets of Campbell, Fleix and Benimaurell are rural Spain in its extreme and are precariously perched on rocky outcrops. The area was the last bastion of the Moors in Valencia before they were evicted from the region and the visitor is able to see how easy the Moors were able to hide in the vast wilderness and underground caves. The drive to the highest village offers spectacular scenery virtually unequalled in this part of Spain with cherry and almond trees as far as the eyes can see.
The southern road from Orba climbs to the village of Parcent and onto Tarbena. Not only is the latter a beautiful and idyllic village with narrow washed walled streets but the journey is quite breathtaking as the vast Jalon Valley is sprawled below winding from the mountain range down to the sea. The pinpricks of villages and hamlets can be spotted and named but only with some difficulty. The whole area is awash with the perfume and stunning colours of the Almond blossom usually in February of each year.
Charming Orba is a bustling and thriving individual village somewhat unique inasmuch it has virtually every amenity and facility required by the visitor. The village is no more than an easy ten-minute flat walk from the villa. It has many shops, banks, hairdressers, a medical centre, tapas bars and several restaurants where it is still regarded as normal to eat a three-course meal with wine for under £4. As with all Spanish villages the cultural heart lies in the Town Square, that is dominated by a beautiful church. Orba has its own individual brand of characters that simply entices the atmosphere and some of which you will surely get to know during your stay.
The annual cycle race in Orba village
The beautiful almond blossom covering our village in glorious colour and scents
Share the lifestyle at one of the many marinas dotted around the Costa Blanca
Drool over the local fish counter. Choice and prices that can only be dreamed about.
Narrow Moorish streets typical of the area.
Denia is a large resort town with every amenity and endless beautiful shops. The town and harbour are dominated by the ancient Moorish castle and from the port area daily ferries operate across to the Balearic islands as well as short journeys up and down the coastline. It is a thriving town that comes to life and buzzes at night with the artisan market along the sea front and abundance of excellent restaurants and shops. Capture the moment the fishing smacks return to port at around 6pm and marvel at the selection from the port market.
If you prefer to relax by our magnificent pool during the day then in the evening consider taking in one of the many village fiestas that are staged generally from May to September offering music, dancing, paella, parades and of course fireworks. There is in excess of fifty villages within a thirty-minute drive from the villa so it is unlikely you will not find a fiesta but more a question of how many?
For the active visitors there is a wealth of possibilities that include horse riding, golf, sailing, jet and water skiing, wind surfing, cycling, tennis, go karting, coarse (carp) and sea fishing and all gradients of walking. These are all up to a 20-minute drive from the village.
Slightly further afield there are many beautiful Mediterranean resorts to explore with similar ingredients and formula to offer the visitor. Narrow streets, coves, sandy beaches, lovely commercial and leisure ports and the traditional tapas bars can be found in Javea, Moraira, Altea, Calpe and Oliva. Strictly speaking Oliva and nearby Gandia are not in the Costa Blanca but the Costa Azahar or Costa Valencia. Both are substantial towns with white sanded beaches. Indeed the stretch at the Grao de Gandia has to be one of the best in the whole of Spain and within a 30-minute drive from the villa. Visit any one of the local fruit and vegetable markets in the surrounding villages and marvel at the wonderful selection and freshness of the produce at quite amazing prices. It is worth a mention that in this part of Spain particularly inland traditional Spanish is spoken alongside Valenciana, which sounds and looks like a different language. This is sometimes confusing for the visitor as Javea is also spelt Xabia, Jalon/Xalo along with many other examples.
Benidorm is also an easy 40-minute drive and while it is a concrete jungle of hotels and high rise apartment blocks it is worth a visit particularly out of high season. The entertainment value is high and in the past 18 months many stars have performed in the summer months. Elton John, Jose Carreras, Rolling Stones, BB King to name but just a few.
Not to be missed is the spectacular new science and aqua park in Valencia, which will take a full day of your time.
A car is strictly unnecessary but highly recommended both from a practical and financial point of view.
The new Science Park in Valencia said to be the largest and most impressive in Europe. On the same site is the Oceanographic Park with its vast array of marine life including a new pair of Beluga whales.
Adjacent to the Science Park is the new Opera and Music House.
